Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

Adoption Advocates is licensed to work with pre- and post-adoptive families who reside throughout the State of Michigan; we have professional social workers throughout the state available to work with you.
Adoptive candidates must:

• Be over the age of 21
• Meet state, Citizenship & Immigration Services, and country requirements
• Have no substantiated history with the Child Abuse Registry
• Are willing to be evaluated through an extensive, detailed process

Adoption Advocates does not discriminate by reason of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, marital status, or sexual orientation; however, we must comply with Michigan, Citizenship & Immigration Services, and other countries’ or states’ requirements when dealing with international adoption or domestic adoptions. When pursuing adoption, the requirements vary from state to state and country to country.  Applicants must meet the standards set by the state or foreign county from where they wish to adopt.
